Alfredo was born and raised in the countryside of Brazil. He was a kid filled with energy, curiosity and passion. On December 16th 1951, everything changed, when at the age of 13 he became paralyzed–losing total movement of his arms, torso, and legs. After his accident, some doctors gave him only a few months of life. With persistence and love, his parents found a rehabilitation clinic in the USA–Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation N.J–where he spent three years.

After a long battle with his new challenges, he returned to his town in the state of Sao Paulo with the same mindset of happiness and peace that he always had. He eventually became a first-class honours graduate in law school, before succeeding as a renowned lawyer and businessman in the pasta, coffee and cattle business. Additionally, he was the state champion of chess and the president of the municipal chess club. He was happily married until death set them apart, and with the blessing of four children and eight grandchildren.

His radiant personality attracted others and motivated them to do better. He showed us the importance of focusing on the blessings that we are given. By embodying this mindset he was able to achieve great success and purpose in his life.
